WHISALERT
is
installed onto your boat's fuel vent system, between the tank and the hull vent.
WHISALERT
makes a clearly audible whistling sound as the air in the tank is displaced
by the fueling during filling. The whistling sound begins to stop as the tank is approaching
full and stops when the tank is completely full. This
alerts the person filling
the tank that it is full, thus helping to prevent fuel spills.
Loud enough to be heard from anywhere on the boat, this simple and inexpensive device
is guaranteed to help prevent fuel spills, therefore saving you the clean up and
helping to preserve our marine environments.
WHISALERT
should always be installed in an upright position and can be installed
anywhere on the vent hose. The farther away from the tank it is placed, the more
lead time the filler will have to stop filling before a spill occurs.
|
The person filling the tank should be aware of how much fuel they expect the tank
will hold and if possible, should slow down the flow of fuel while the last few
gallons are pumping. Slower pump speeds will also create less foaming in the tank,
which will improve the effectiveness of the WHISALERT and help prevent spills.
The Federal Pollution Control Act prohibits the discharge of oil or oily waste into
or upon navigatable waters of the United States. |
